The Vrancea County Council organizes the “Night of the Mausoleums”, an event within the project The Centenary of the Great War, Heroic Vrancea 1917-2017.
Thus, on the evening of July 29, 2017, cultural-artistic moments will be organized to commemorate the heroes fallen in the battles of the summer of 1917 in Vrancea during the First World War at the most important mausoleums in Vrancea County.
On the afternoon of July 29, 2017, from 17:00 at the Heroes’ Mausoleum in Soveja commune, the Recital of the ‘Pastorala’ Choir will take place.
From 19:00, at the Mărăști Heroes’ Mausoleum, the theater play “The Heroes — the first wall and the last hope of the Romanian nation” will be staged, offered by the “Simion Mehedinți” Creation and Theater Workshop within APOR Vrancea.
At the Mărășești Heroes’ Mausoleum, located on the E 85, from 19:30, a military ceremonial organized by the Focșani Garrison for the “National Anthem” Day will take place for the first time. From 20:00, the recital of the “Pastorala” Choir will take place, and at 21:00 the participants are invited to release sky lanterns in memory of the heroes who sleep their eternal sleep here.
On July 29, 2017, access to all mausoleums in Vrancea is free for the ‘Night of the Mausoleums’, and they can be visited until 23:00.
In Vrancea County, four mausoleums were built in honor of the heroes who fought and died in Vrancea during the battles of the summer of 1917, all of these being Historical Monuments and all being rehabilitated and restored by the Vrancea County Council within the Regio project — “The Road of Glory of the Romanian Army in the First World War”.
Also to honor the memory of the heroes, year after year, the Vrancea County Council organizes, between July 20 and August 6, 2017, commemoration events, within the “Heroic Vrancea” project.
